Delightful antique French hallmarked vermeil or gilded sterling silver 4pc dinner set including cup or tumbler, napkin ring, fork & spoon with Empire style pattern, interlaced "RD" monograms and wonderful condition! Just about as charming as can be, this set was surely made for a child. All perfectly sized for a child's hand, the cup is a mere 2 3/8" tall, the ring has a 1.5" diameter and the flatware is around 5 3/4" in length. All four with a beautiful Classical or Empire style pattern consisting of a frieze band of urns, swags & tendrils on the cup & ring and a beautiful acanthus accented scrolling pattern on the flatware. Each richly gilded sterling silver, likely an 18k gold plating which was common for French vermeil. All bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are for Page Freres, Paris circa 1901-1905. A lovely set, spoil your little angel!
Very good condition. Some slight wear to the vermeil finish, mot notable around the monograms on the fork & spoon. No dents, damage or repairs to note. 4.12 troy ounces or 128 grams total weight for the four. See pictures for individual weights & measurements.
