Fabulous & rare matched pair of 19th century French Charles X to Napoleon III era (1830-70s) white opaline glass timbale or wine cups with wonderful hourglass or beaker shape, hand painted gilt accenting and turquoise enamel 'jewels'! Okay, so Susan is still in Paris and just happened to mention that she'd seen a complete set almost just like these in Malmaison, the home of Napoleon & Josephine Bonaparte. Not exact but close enough to light the proverbial fire and get me to list them :). A pair, each slightly different is size because of the individual mouth formed or blown nature of the crafting. An exquisite set, nearly perfect condition and priced to move, take advantage of it!
Very good-excellent condition! No chips or cracks and just the slightest wear to the painted decoration. These are in thick opaline glass, not the thinner variety and are sure to please! See pictures for measurements.
