Large antique French 1870-1890 Black Forest style hand carved 29" tall wall clock with wooden dial & enamel numeral plaques AND incorporated barometer and thermometer! As impressive as they come and a magnificent decorative piece, a perfect accent to a Black Forest or Country French or English decor! Large clock face with a 7.5" diameter and convex crest or shield-shaped enamel (on copper) numerals. The writing on the barometer face is in French though it may be a Swiss piece. No distinct maker's markings on the clock movement, just number marks and perhaps a tiny foundry mark? There is also a small plaque mounted to the dial just above the 6 o'clock position, this would originally have had an enamel maker or retailer's inscription but it appears to have worn off over the years and isn't legible. Original thermometer mounted on a milk glass panel, overall a fabulous decorative wall clock. A beautiful larger piece, guaranteed to please!
Very Good Condition! A few small flaws but in overall fantastic shape. Pendulum & key intact and the clock runs but I haven't been able to have it run consistently, probably in need of an oiling or cleaning. I have also not tested the barometer or thermometer but see no reason why they would not be in working order (less confident in the barometer though). See pictures for measurements.
