Some time ago we offered a pair of exquisite Georgian seed pearl bracelets, multi string beauties with portrait miniatures set into each clasp. The clasps were made just like the one you see here. You might wish to have it restrung with small pearls or beads and turn it back into wearable art, a bracelet as it originally would have been. The clasp is still with it, removes with a pinch at its center. The way this one is made also makes it possible to use as a pendant, with a small bale added up top in that center hole should you choose to. Or certainly, just display it with your collection as it is. The painting is a fine work of art, though I do not find a signature. Georgian gentleman with typical hair and clothing, c.1760-80s. The gold tests (acid) at 12k and it is yellow in color.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. The good sized clasp is slightly arched to accommodate the curve of a wrist, and is without dents, chips, flaws to note. The clasp inset is still with it, as you can see. Measurements are noted on the photos, but it is 1.5" x 1.25" and a rounded oval. Slightly beveled original cover glass is complete, undamaged. The original cover glass has protected it beautifully.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
