Set of 6 pristine 19th century French sterling silver shellfish or oyster forks with sterling silver handles and fork, confirmed by the presence of the French Minerve #1 punch mark on each part of these stunning old pieces. An elegant pattern to the handles, but we can't get a clear enough read on the little diamond-shaped poincon (punch mark) to read the name of the silversmith, sorry. There is an additional mark, insect mark, which says the set was exported at some time, as well. The French really do control their fine silver.
Very good to excellent condition for era and type, there are no dents or dings to impact either your enjoyment in using them, or their value. Sets in France are sold in 6's rather than 8's as we're used to so this does represent a full set. The sets of 12 are just double sets of standard 6 pieces, I might add. Measurements in the photos.
