The set is un-signed, but is definitely by Daum, one of the famed French makers of fine glass and crystal wares, 19th century to early 20th century. The fluted forms and the feathered gold trim are signature enough. We've had many Daum pieces in this manner, meant for use rather than as their art glass pieces, yet definitely with the same pedigree and elegance. The set you see here is comprised of a medium-large table pitcher, the size the French would use for water for a table, or in USA, you'd think of it as a juice pitcher. French tablewares are usually scaled a little smaller than ours, with the obvious exception of the flatware, which is rather huge. But I digress a bit. The set was purchased by me with 6 matching timbale (wine cups) but unfortunately one was crushed getting to the US, so we offer a service for 5 - or for 4 with a spare. And we guarantee our packing is adequate to the task of delivering all of these pieces without damage! Sigh.
Very good to excellent condition, the pieces are all hand made glass with applied gold enamel feathering at rims, all matching but of course not mold-made so slightly different. A fabulous set without chips or cracks or damage, considering that it has just 5 tumblers rather than 6, along with the generously sized pitcher. Use for wine service or juice in the morning - either works!
