Fabulous antique French sterling silver Belle Epoque era 8pc dessert or entremet sized knife set, hallmarked silver blades with elegant walnut & silver handles! One of several sets of antique French knives that we're adding this week so, be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks! This an exceptional setting for eight, seashell style sterling silver caps & collars on solid walnut handles and all eight pieces in wonderful condition. The blades all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks designate them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are fur Adelson Limousin, Paris circa 1890. The handles also bear the mark of Boin-Taburet, a notable French silversmith and retailer. A lovely set, enjoy!
Very good condition. No bends, damage or repairs to any of the silver blades, just a tiny nip to a tip or two. There is one age or drying split visible on the back of a solid walnut handle but no breaks or damage to any. See pictures for weights and measurements.
