A tall and stately vase for display when not in use, it's in fine old French opaline and in the rarest color: green. The elaborate framework is sturdy, complete, undamaged, and has a wonderful patina of age to it. The pale green and thick heavy glass bowl of the vase is also without damage, and is trimmed out in berries and leaves around the upper rim. No, not quite holly berries and holly leaves, but certainly works for a bouquet of rich red roses at Holiday time, or anytime. Photos tell all, including measurements. This is heavier than it looks, by the way - large and very beautiful!
Very good to excellent condition throughout. No chips or cracks or hairlines, the old opaline glass is stunning, complete, and beautifully adorned with that enamel work. The framework is stunning, elegant - and large. Hinged side handles at 3 points on the stand form a triangle, and the overall decorative effect is superb.
