Elegant vintage Belgian & French hallmarked silver & gilt 12pc cake, shellfish or oyster fork set with wheat stalk accented pattern, shaped gold tines and wonderful visual appeal! Gorgeous really, the handle pattern on all rather unique in an ornate Aesthetic style with scrolling tendrils, laurel garland and the unique addition of three wheat stalks. The blades or tines (from the handles up) are no silver but in a vermeil style gilt or gold plated metal of some sort. The handles do bear hallmarks, the Belgian "A800" (Belgian origin, 800 for .800 silver or 80% pure so just under the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark of "POT" is French and for Ernest Pot, Paris circa 1904-1908. Perfect for shellfish, an elegant oyster service or even pastries or small cakes. Fabulous!
Very good condition. There is a bit of very faint dimpling to the handles and some wear to the gold ends, one of them has more extensive scratches and gilt loss (shown in images). See pictures for weights and measurements.
