Gorgeous Antique French Charles X to Napoleon III Era Cobalt Glass & Gilt Bronze 5" Tazza, Bonbon or Candies Dish
Absolutely gorgeous antique French Charles X to Napoleon III era 5.25" diameter tazza, a raised bonbon or candies dish in deep cobalt glass with gilt bronze ormolu framework and beautiful bronze overlay! A near match to two stunning claret jugs we have listed this week, this one in the same deep cobalt blue glass but with a very unique bronze overlay on the top dish and base. I've seen sterling silver overlays and rarely bronze but the combination of deep blue and gold is always as attractive as can be. Ornate leaves on the vine encircling the top dish and base, all richly gilded and virtually dripping gold. Exceptional!
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or damage that I can see to the glass, no missing bronze overlay. One flaw that I can see is that a leaf and its stem have come off but then the stem wound back in (it's there but not solder attached like the others). See pictures for all measurements.
