A fine 19th century pair of French (LeMaire - Paris) opera glasses or field binoculars, still protected by their original leather case. Please overlook the dust our photographer neglected to dust off before shooting the shots. The lenses are clear, clean, in fine working order. Ready to use or display. The leather-clad barrels are in very fine condition for age, too, and are not split nor loose. Eyepieces are marked with maker mark for LeMaire, Paris, and show two small bees. LeMaire is one of the top names in these 19th century binoculars, lenses.
Very good condition, very slight rub to the leather and perhaps a tiny nip or two to the notched adjustment wheel. They're clear to view, no chips or damage to lenses, (forgive the dust in photos - it's on surface, we'll clean it off). They've been in storage a while and needed dusting, which apparently my photographer will not do. ; ) The one flaw to note is the missing leather handle on top of the leather carrying case. Case shows wear, age.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
