Wonderful antique French sterling silver 3pc traveler's style flatware set, a knife, fork & spoon with ornate scrolling pattern & engraved "Helene" dedication and all in the original fitted leatherette travel case or etui! The hallmarks on each piece are French, the Minerve or Minerva marking. The tiny number "1" within those marks designate them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Silversmith marks are for Henri Soufflot, Paris c. 1884-1910. All three pieces in wonderful condition, as you can see in the images, and as attractive as can be with "Helen" engraved amidst the scrolling ornamentation on one side and "24 Septembre 1891" engraved on the other! Neatly nestled in the original maroon leatherette case! One of two travel style sets that we're adding today, the other in French Vermeil or gilded .800 silver and also beautifully ornate!
Very good condition. The silver pieces are all in fine condition with a knife mark or two to the fork tines and the blade of the knife itself has a chip at the end and appears to have been sharpened out of its normal shape. The fitted case is original and included. See pictures for measurements.
