Lovely antique French sterling silver & likely Baccarat swirled glass 7.5" tall cologne, perfume or liqueur decanter PAIR, ornate Louis XIV or rococo style! I just love these, large and heavy for colognes and we think they'd just as easily work for liqueurs on an opulently appointed bar. Unfortunate that the interiors have some cloudy residue, one more so than the other, but it doesn't show nearly as much with colored liquor or perfume, etc. inside. Thick & heavy swirled glass bodies, each weighs about 2 lbs. The style nearly a calling card for Baccarat but they don't bear any markings. The large bulbous lids with a rococo style swirl or spiral fluting, scrolls, foliate accents and even stylized seashells. The lids and collars bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The tiny silversmith marks are easily legible, "MV", though I've not been able to find reference to them. A lovely oversized pair, even with the flaw!
Very good condition, with a nod to the cloudy interior(s). Possibly a tiny nip or two but no chips, cracks or damage other than the residue inside. No damage or dents to the lids and the original facet cut stoppers are intact with just a few tiny nips possible. See pictures for all measurements.
