Just in from Paris. This wonderful old smoker's caddy hails back to turn of the century, c.1900, give or take 20 years, and is just beautiful. That thick panel of glass shows greenish to the thickness (edges) and is so beautifully mounted with the polished brass fittings, inserts, it kind of makes me tempted to take up cigars. However, I recently got that urge, smoked one from the package shown (Davidoff) and made myself purely sick with only about 3/4 of an inch of it, so perhaps it's best left to those of you who have curated a sophistication about your tobacco use I will never have. Still, any finely appointed room, den, office, living room of same will delight with this addition. It moves with antiques or modern interior, I think, and while one fitting misses the jar that would have rested there, works completely as it is. One can rest cigar tools into that mid-sized round rim and it'll seem perfect, don't you agree? Measurements noted directly on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. There is one very small flashing on edge at one spot on all that beautifully polished glass. You'll be able to see it and evaluate it in the enlarged photos, but it almost disappears entirely with the impact visually of the set. Also, as noted, I think there would have been one more lift-off jar in that mid-sized round fitting, and it is no longer with the set. The one holding cigars and also the ashtray lift off and are portable. The make of it is sturdy and solid and nothing is loose on that tray. It's just wonderful! The glass is a 9.5" square about .25" thick - gorgeous. No other flaws to note.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time.
