We've had a few of these over the years, but only one other one in this large cigar size. Usually they're small and for cheroots or smaller cigarette-sized smokes, but this one is extra large and will work for a cigar. The case is made of fine French sterling silver (all marks are shown - .Boar's head mark for 800/1000 pure silver) The interior has a gold layer (vermeil) that is 18k gold, and that generous rim on the amber shaft of the cigar holder is also 18k French made solid gold. You see the tiny eagle's head mark on that one, though my photographer missed capturing it. But it is there. The monogram is D L or perhaps D F if you prefer to read it that way.
Very good condition for age and type. There are a couple of chew imperfections on the mouthpiece end, visible in our images for your review. There is no other damage to the large beautiful worked amber. There are also a few light abrasions on the gold and on the silver et, also visible for your review in our extra large clear images, but far less apparent to the naked eye. A fabulous large and rare cigar holder, with case. No dents.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
