Aren't these wonderful! A complete twelve piece set of antique French hallmarked sterling silver handled shellfish or oyster fork set with hard to find Art Nouveau styled lily floral pattern, wonderful condition and original storage and/or presentation case. The blade portions, from the handle up, are in silver plate but the handles are sterling silver and as lovely as Art Nouveau comes. Tiny French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks on one side near the top, the tinier number "1" within means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). On the other side of the handle is the silversmith mark for Louis Ravinet & Charles Denfert, Paris circa 1891-1912. A lovely set, ready to use...ready to impress!
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs to the sterling handles but, as you can see, they're all in great shape with no notable denting, no damage or repairs. Even the silver-plate blades are in great shape with no signs of loss or wear throughs. The box is, we think, original to the set and has a slight warp to the lid (mostly visible from the sides, see pictures) and one rear hinge has separated from the bottom of the box. See pictures for measurements.
