Elegant antique French Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era 6pc 7 5/8" fruit, entremet or luncheon knife set with .800 (nearly sterling) silver blades, ebony wood handles and 1819-1838 hallmarks! A truly fine set for six, in the older flat blade style and all in remarkable condition given their nearly 200 years! The French Michelange or Michelangelo hallmark on all blades, the tiny number "2" within those marks designate them as being in at least .800 silver (80% pure and just under the .925 standard for sterling silver). The slightly lower silver content makes them stronger though and less likely to bend or flex. Silversmith marks are there but I've not been able to find reference to them. A fine set of six, guaranteed to impress.
Very good condition. There are hairline splits visible on the back sides of a few handles but no chips, breaks or repairs. No damage that I can see to the silver blades. See pictures for measurements.
