This is just a little sweet old English sterling silver gem frame I found, needs a glass, backing and hanging loop, but I was fascinated by it and here it is. The photos show me I didn't do much of a job polishing the silver. But it's here for you if you'd like it as a little project. The silver marks tell us it was made in 1896, and in Birmingham. That isn't tortoise shell, though it has a look of it. It is, I guess, some early faux. Has burn smell of celluloid (needle tip test) but it would be lovely with your collection.
Good condition for age and type, such as it is. It needs a little TLC, and a glass and a backing, or to be mounted within another frame, perhaps. Selling it as it is. Slight bend to push back. Need some silver polish. Will be fabulous when you play with it and make it so. The frame is 3 1/3" tall, 2 1/2" wide. Aperture is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" oval. Also noted on the photos.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time.
