Fine antique French hallmarked .800 (nearly sterling) silver writer's wax seal or sceau, unique Gothic Revival style with interlaced "CM" or "MC" monogram. Tiny hallmarks on each side near the seal tip, one the French boar's head designating at least .800 or 80% pure silver. This marked used on smaller silver pieces. On the other side is a tiny silversmith mark, unfortunately too small for me to make out so I've not been able to narrow down the date of manufacture or maker. A lovely piece and one of four that we're adding this week so be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks!
Very good condition. Very slight surface scuffing but no dents, damage or repairs to note. The box is also in fine shape, age considered. See pictures for all measurements.
