The set is a wonderful grouping of 6 plates by Luneville, a picture group from the French Revolution, complete with a guillotine on one of the plates. Perfect for your Bastille Day dinner, or to display decoratively in your Country French kitchen. I have something similar on an oak valance rack above my kitchen windows and just love the look. Get creative. Use and display, enjoy. I am unsure of the date of this set. I was told c.1900. I will tell you that I am not expert enough to dispute what my French picker says on these. While they have small indentation marks that make sense to Luneville, they were not easy to search and I suspect the set might be slightly later. The diameters are 10", so nice and large enough to set for dinner should you so choose. Such wonderful art work on this set. Egalite!
Very good condition for age and type. No restorations or breaks. The glaze color is a deep indigo blue on white, and while there is glaze-crazing you'd expect to see in very old plates, there are no discolorations nor really bad spots of it. I find no chips, no cracks.
