Fine Vintage French Mechanical Wine Serving Stand w Candle Holder for Brandy, too.
This is not antique but is vintage, probably c. 1940-60s and is a fabulous item for your tabletop when it comes to serving wine, or, as added feature, to warm brandy. Usually when I have found this type of item, they're only for wine service. This one has an additional adjustable feature to the tilt stand that, extended, is the rest and holder for a brandy snifter, under which a swing-away candle holder can be depended upon to warm the brandy. I'm not certain you can figure that part out without seeing it with a brandy snifter in place, and sadly, I haven't got a larger brandy snifter at hand to give to our photographer. So you'll have to just picture it and know that it is there for your use. A lovely old thing, wooden platform and bright brass fittings which are designed to tilt a wine bottle at the turn of the handle. Just a very fun item, really, and certainly one anyone who loves wine will want to add to their cellar.
Very good to excellent, the wooden base is just gorgeous, and I really don't see anything by way of a flaw to report to you. Works just fine. All the ceremony a fine wine deserves! Measurements appear on the photos but that is a normal bottle of wine shown resting in place. There is, by the way, ability to adjust to fit variety of bottle sizes.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
