Absolutely gorgeous PAIR of antique French or European hallmarked silver plate 7 1/4" tall serving bowls, both with original shaped & wheel cut glass inserts, cabriole style legs with lion's paw feet and acanthus accents and both in wonderful condition! Silver plated yes but as visually impressive as sterling silver but at a fraction of the price....and we all like that :). Every time we find a unique French silver plate set of flatware or serving piece they seem to go out sold as quickly as they come in and we're sure that will be the case with this PAIR, too. All of the visual appeal of old Napoleon III French sterling silver but, as noted above, with a much more attractive price tag. This pair both marked on the bottom of the silver stands with "Phenix" (SP?) and "", the "20" for the gauge of silver plating used and the other I have yet to find a reference for (hence the "or European" above though we think they're of French make and we purchased them in France). A beautiful pair, perfect for your fine dinner table ensemble and guaranteed to impress.
Very good condition. Only one small rim flash crack on one of the glass inserts (see pictures). A tiny bit of wear to the vermeil or gold washed interiors and possibly some slight surface scuffing in a place or two but no dents, no missing or worn silver plating and no repairs. See pictures for all measurements.
