Elegant antique French sterling silver & intaglio etched or engraved glass 6.5" carafon or decanter PAIR, personal or 'duet' claret jugs with ornate sterling silver top and beautifully decorated glass bodies! The lids and hinged attachments all bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Vve Risler & Carre, Paris circa 1897-1912. An elegant French sterling silver PAIR of water or wine jugs, what more could one hope for? Don't miss them.
Very good to excellent condition. Each individually hand crafted so slight variances are to be expected. One stands a total of 6 5/8" tall and the other 6 3/8". No damage or repairs to the sterling silver tops. The glass is also in great shape with no chips or cracks. See pictures for measurements.
