Antique Hand Carved Black Forest Stag & Antlers Pediment, Fronton, Top for Doorway, Armoire,
Wonderful accent to use above a door, work into the tops of cabinetry, or just to hang on your wall. This would have been the fronton (top ornament) from a cabinet or armoire in its original form, and it's been salvaged from same and brought here from Europe to give your decorator skills an advantage. If you love the Hunt Lodge or Ski Lodge look, or are just stuck on Cabin or even Country French decor, accents like this make your project look like a magazine spread. We love these! The old hand carved 19th century Animalier and fruits of the hunt themed carvings are to die for. This one will top a door or window beautifully. It is 27" across, nicely preserved as you can see, and ready to install. The install pins remain, which you can work with or you can remove them to have a flush fit above a door without having to drill pin insert holes.
Very good condition for age and type. Most of these have long since lost their antlers, so it's fun to have one that still has both of the hand carved antlers in place. I see my photographer neglected to get his best side, which is from a side-view. The stag is much nicer than he's been shown in our images. And the carved and worked wooden corbel is without significant loss or damage. It is 27" long, 9" tallest and extends a full 6" from the wall. The wood is still just gorgeous, as you can see. no evidence of earlier wood worm infestation, which is nice.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
