We've had numerous fine old gold watch chains. In fact one just sold today. But I've never seen or owned a long Georgian to early Victorian era watch chain made entirely of human hair before now. We've had other jewelry items, bracelets, even rings, but this super long woven hair one is unique among them. I've tested the gold and find that the clasp for watch is 12k gold, the other pieces (beads, slide) test 18k gold and all gold is yellow in color. Exceptionally fine condition, without any looseness or loss to the woven hair. It's extra long. There's a bit of stretch to hair items, so I'm going to say approximately 40" long. The final image shows how these were worn, long and tucked into the belt of the wearer. A superb collection item for watch collectors or to wear for that very unique accessory. The watch shown is not included, but is offered for sale separately. I have several 18k gold watches to list so look for those if you wish to complete the long hair chain with a pretty watch.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. Very clean, appears to have never been worn or used. No damage to the gold. No loss to the woven hair - really an elegant rare item. No odor, nothing but the prettiest watch chain ever.
