Rare antique English Millikin & Lawley marked doctor's travel surgical kit or etui, a leather case with 5pc tools or implements, Paris circa 1859-1880s! The set includes five implements including several scalpels and several others. Most marked Millikin & Lawley, as is the case or etui (one marked Weiss, London). Milliken & Lawley was founded around 1859 at 161A Strand. Prior to this the premises were occupied by John Milliken supplier of surgical equipment. After 1859 John Milliken moved to Borough, the firm of Milliken & Lawley continued to supply surgical apparatus as well as lantern slides and other goods. A rare and interesting set for the collectors and one of two similar surgical sets we're adding this week so be sure to browse some while you're with us. Thanks!
Good to very good condition, age considered. All is as you see in the images. The leather case or etui has some edge tearing and age related damage, some tears visible. Most of the tools are in great shape, some bug damage or chipping to a handle or two and one has a glue repair to the handle near the folding area. See pictures for all measurements.
Always a pleasure for us here at Antiques & Uncommon Treasure to offer fine quality antique jewelry.
