Absolutely gorgeous & rare complete 60pc set of antique French sterling silver flatware, a full 10pc place setting for SIX with ornate Louis VI or rococo style pattern, interlaced "AB" monograms and all in superb condition! Simply stunning! A comprehensive 60pc set here, rare in number of pieces per place setting and all simply as beautifully French as can be. I've tried to find a name for the pattern but the closest I come to it is referenced as Louis XV style, definitely rococo with the unique shape to the handles, rocaille and foliate (& floral) accents. The set consists of ten each in the larger dinner sized knives forks & spoons, medium luncheon or entremet sized knives forks & spoons, sterling silver bladed dessert knives & vermeil tined forks and even those beautiful fish knives & forks. All pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The knives all have stainless steel blades, beautiful and perfectly usable (except for the six dessert knives with hallmarked sterling silver blades). The silversmith marks on all are for Henri Soufflot, Paris circa 1884-1910. A truly magnificent set for your smaller, more intimate gatherings and guaranteed to impress!! Exquisite, don't miss them!
Very good to excellent condition. Some faint surface marks here & there but no breaks, damage or repairs to note. All are as near pristine as can be! There is some fading and/or wear to the vermeil on the dessert forks. See pictures for individual weights and measurements.
