One of the old ones from c.1890-1915, this is a solid cast bronze pair of parrots or parakeets (I don't know my birds, sorry), cold painted and from Vienna, Austria artisans. The bronze is mounted on the old original alabaster ash tray or bonbon dish which is nice and large. I found this one in England on my recent buying trip, and it's in such nice condition, some fortunate collector will be thrilled as I was to find this one, we're sure.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Photos show it from all angles, and there are no chips or cracks or breaks to consider. Very light loss to the cold painted surface, perhaps, and would be typical for these old ones. The piece is very heavy, solid bronze and stone. Nice size, the alabaster is 4.5" in diameter, and the birds are 6.5" tail tip to tail tip, and overall the piece is 4" high, with the birds being 2.5" in height without the dish.
