Suitable for use as a tie pin or tie tack for a gentleman, or as a lovely small brooch for a lady, this is a late Georgian or very early Victorian mourning pin. The seed pearl is iconographic and represents the tear of a mourning loved one left behind. The star into which it is mounted is also iconographic and represents the star in the Heavens which the lost loved one has now become a fixture of. A lovely old treasure, it has been acid tested at 15K and is ini fine form.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. Tested 15k yellow gold, solid. Anchor pin and chain make it perfect to use as a tie pin, as well. The rather unique piece that can be worn by a gentleman. The bale for that chain has been a later addition and shows a bit of solder there.
