Fabulous! As many sets of fine Antique sterling silver flatware as we have now and more about to list, we're always working hard to find beautiful sets of knives to compliment them and to give our customers a nice choice. A group picture above to show you what the right knives can really do for your collection and for your table. This is a fine set of full-sized dinner knives with rich elegant old ebony or ebonized wood handles and sterling silver ferrules or collars & caps. They don't have marks or Minerve, but that is quite common with such small pieces and they are sterling or at least .800 silver, yes. The blades appear to be original and, while there is some corrosion pitting visible, they've been recently polished and are, as you can see, in fine usable condition. We've located a master re-blader from a long line of French knife makers in the Thiers, France region (historical capital of knife making in France) who replaces blades on these beautiful old knife handles so it is possible that these are such (also possible that they're original and made after the date above). We would not change out the fine old antique blades if they're at all presentable, as is the case with this set. Very unique with the Art Nouveau floral motif, one of the only sets of its kind that we've had the pleasure to offer so, don't miss them!
Very good condition throughout. A small hairline split or two but no breaks or repairs to the ebony or ebonized wood handles. A bit of tarnish visible on the silver caps & collars and, as noted above. The blades are all fantastic and may be stainless steel replacements. A perfect way to compliment your fine French silver at table. See pictures for measurements.
