One of the finest and best preserved late 1700s pocket etui we've seen, with all the original fitted implements for grooming and essential travel use. The exterior is beautifully preserved chocolate colored fine shell with silver pique and silver cartouche on each side and up top, each with engraving. The case is well hinged, the clasp works perfectly and there is no warping or cracks, bug bites to diminish the value or appearance. There is one age crack shown in our images for you review, and luckily it is at the back lower section and quite insignificant for an item of this age and type. Within, we find that the original implements remain. Our photos show them well and title them for their original use. One of the best we've seen, in museums or out. Take a look.
Very good to excellent for age and type. Over 200 years, and all we've misplaced from this rare old treasure is the stopper for the scent/salts flask (flacon). Remarkable! Images show you more than you could see with your naked eye, and you can see it's fabulous!
