Fine 19th century French Napoleon III era parlor clock, immense 24" x 19" ebonized frame and boulle style white metal, brass & ebony marquetry inlaid facade! These are always wonderful decorative clocks, impressive size and visual appeal! A serpentine ebonized wood frame encircles the front, framing a large glass cover and the marquetry style inlaid face beneath. The clock dial is glass, reverse painted white with black numerals. Dual key wind face also, we think it's a 30 day movement but aren't 100% sure (marked "VE" with a Napoleonic bee on the back of the movement). Steel coil so it has an attractive chime, what more could you ask for? A fantastic price? You've got it!
Good condition! A few flaws, a restoration or two. There is a repaired split in the outer ebonized framing, on the right side about middle but you have to look hard to see it). The paint on the back side of the glass clock face is a bit bubbled and aged, all evident in the pictures. No missing inlay on the front. See pictures for measurements.
