Large vintage 1949 Gorham hallmarked sterling silver 11 3/8" vegetable or bread bowl, serving tray, with ornate scrolled bordering, flowers & seashell shaped accents in deep bas relief! Gorgeous! I was looking through some of our listed sterling silver trays, etc. and found this one but realized that we'd not yet photographed or listed it yet. Always exciting, almost like Christmas here when I find things that we forgot we had :). A large, heavy bowl, the piece has a diameter of just under 11.5" and weighs 17.43 troy ounces or 542 grams. The pattern not Gotham's Lily but beautiful nonetheless with ornate scrolls, delicate flowers and even seashell accents. I've looked just a bit and it appears that the pattern is, or is similar to, Melrose and the number is "GS 818" in case that helps anyone. A wonderful serving bowl or even fruit, potpourri or flower filled centerpiece.
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but no large dents, damage or repairs to note. Just beautiful! There are a few tiny dark spots visible. See pictures for measurements.
