I love these old hand carved Black Forest jardinieres. Just listed one last night with rooster, hen, hare, and sold it already. They don't stay in inventory very long. This is a lovely one, great as a centerpiece for your table, a fruit holder for your kitchen bar, or to hold a bouquet of flowers. There is no zinc liner in these old Black Forest ones, so you'll need to use inner pots. I love the idea of 4 smaller pottery or clay plant pots inside this one with your herb garden, but do protect that you don't get the wood wet with your plantings. Aren't they fun! This one is beautifully carved, too. Measurements noted directly on our photos, but it's roughly 10.5" square.
Very good condition for age and typ[e. You can see that there are a couple of very old woodworm holes, evidence that at some point a small infestation broke out and was then treated. I see small imperfections also at the upper carvings, showing up as lighter wood. We can stain those but wanted them to show for full disclosure and your review. Also, note the Slight fill of a side vine to the far right, and a restored leaf tip just to it's left, directly facing view of the main carving. A few small imperfections, yet overall, a lovely one and very affordably priced considering it's entirely hand carved and is way over 100 years old.
Our photos are large and clear, professionally done. We hope this makes reviewing our antiques a happier experience for you. We love what we do, and we want you to see and "feel" these beautiful old items as if you were holding them in hand. Thank you for reviewing the photos fully, on outside chance I have missed some tiny detail.
