There are SO many ways to put these wonderful hand carved bracket shelves to use in your home (or mine!). They were originally used to mount a clock on the wall, of course, or to display large sculptures or carvings on that generous 8" x 13.5" top shelf. But now they're fabulous as a way to stack and offer your towels in a guest bath, for instance, or to show off your collections in any room. One can never have too many charming and personalizing accents to make a room speak your language, can you? This one is late 1800s, hand carved in its entirety, and remains beautiful today, from all views. Fruits, berries and leaves, vines, and I love that the underside of the shelf is also beautifully carved. A shelf you'll enjoy hanging high on the wall, or to view from the low vantage point in your bath. The shelf is 12.5" tall, a full 13.5" wide at the upper shelf, and comes a full 8" out from the wall.
Very good to excellent for age and type. There is a shrinkage crack you can see on underside of the shelf support, noted from backside with an "x" on our photos for your review. It's due to the old wood shrinking, not to damage otherwise. And if theres' a chip to anywhere else, I have not yet located it. Please look over all our photos in case. Usually a tiny leaf tip or something will have a little chip on these old ones. This one looks quite unscathed by time, and shows beautifully. Measurements also appear on the photos. It is sturdy, set with the original hanging hardware and ready to hand and enjoy. Won't last long in our store. Don't miss it!
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time.
