Everyone loves these tiny French gem frames. They're mid-1800s or earlier and would have held a portrait miniature or a lock of hair, or perhaps by 1860s, a tintype of a loved one. They're like gems and the workmanship is charming.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. This one has all of its cold painted brass leaves and all of the original opaline glass beads, as well as the original cover glass and the easel stand in back. It's a fabulous little treasure, rare to find these days. Measurements noted on photos. The aperture measurement is 2" x 1.5" oval, and outer measurement is noted directly on the photos.
