Edwardian estate smoker's set, complete but for one little brass roundel. It isn't perfect, as you can see, but it's perfectly charming and very "estate" and ready for use by your pipe smoker. Large 12.5" x 9" base and a 5" rise to the lathe-turned wooden tobacco jar, it will show off quite a few pipes in the rack, or perhaps cigars. Tobacco jar and lid, open matches jar and a larger matching one for rolled cigarettes, plus the ash tray - all in beautifully hand crafted and lathe-turned wood. The small metal apparatus to the front is a match striker pad, and that wonderful mechanical cigar cutter still works. Opulently decorated barrel and lid, very well preserved and ready for your use. The rack base is 7.5" in diameter, a nice tight design, and the barrel rises to 6.5". Circa 1860s on this one.

Very good condition for age and type, with beautiful old wood grain and no chips or cracks to the old lathe-turned wood nor the stand, itself. The rack, which has been broken and restored (see our images which are marked to show you the spots to review) will hold either 7 pipes or 7 cigars and all of the bone and brass trim decorative bits are intact, including a frame to the front of the stand into which a piece of emory board or sand paper would be added to use as a match striker. There is some darkening to the old brass on the very old and charming decorative studding, but no losses to those. The front piece is a mechanical cutter for cigars and is in fine working order, visible in our photos, but they are original to the set and we're including them for you to determine their future use or not.

Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
