Silversmith is identified as CHAUVET, Albert, c.1877 4-pc hors d'oeuvre service in original presentation box
For your hors d'oeuvre service, or use with bonbon, dessert service and petit-fours - you'll find the perfect ways to enjoy this stunningly beautiful old set. Still in the original presentation box, with a silk velvet interior that is remarkably fine for its age, the set is unique in appeal with those full-round sterling silver handles. Each of the 4 pieces is hallmarked with the French guarantee mark noting they are completely made of .950/1000 pure silver. The French Minerve is shown, as is the mark of the silversmith. Further adorned by an acid-engraved blade on the knife, the set is gorgeous. Perforated spoon for powdered sugar, fork for olives and Crudités, a flat spatula for petit-four or pate'.
Very good to excellent condition. No dents in those handles and the only thing notable is a bit of bend to the spatula, visible in our images. A little work with hands and it'll be perfectly find. Silver in this high concentration is softer and easy to manipulate such small bends. I'll try to remember to do it. If not, certainly you can. Soft pressure - light touch. The measurements are noted on our photos. A gorgeous set.
Our photos are large and clear. We do expect our customers to review them all, evaluate the item based on both our description and our images. Thanks for all the compliments - we love what we do! Antiques & Uncommon Treasure - all the best, all the time!
