Elegant vintage to antique French vermeil or 18k gold on sterling silver hors d'oeurvre, nut or candies dish with original serving utensil pair and original fitted storage and/or presentation box! WOW! What a mouthful! Another of our fun Paris finds, this one another favorite just due to it's sheer elegance and the fact that the set is complete, all original which is hard to find. Rich, opulent 18k gold on sterling silver around the rim of the bowl and on the implement handles. All bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver) and then coated or plated in what is likely 18k gold. Silversmith marks are there but not completely legible. They could be for Charles Barrier, Paris circa 1913-1931, but we're not 100% sure. The original fitted box is in great shape, as are the treasures inside. Go ahead, spoil yourself!
Excellent condition. No dents, damage or repairs to note and the vermeil finish is entirely intact with no age wear or fading. No chips or cracks in the glass. The box is also in great shape with just a few minor scuffs and two or three small 'dings' to the top front. See pictures for all measurements.
