Fabulous antique French sterling silver 4pc hors d'oeuvre serving implement set with elegant Empire style pattern consisting of crossed torch & quiver, laurel framed interlaced monograms, hallmarked sterling silver blades, tines & bowls and fitted tooled red leatherette storage or presentation box! Both the handles and blade, bowls and tines, etc. bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the tiny number "1" marking within designates them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Tiny silversmith marks are there, "EE" but I've not been able to find a definitive reference. Possibly for Edouard Ernie, Paris c. 1882. A gorgeous set, great additions to your existing fine sterling silver table service!
Very good condition. There is some extremely faint dimpling to the handles but they've all been recently wheel polished to a lustrous shine. The box is in fine shape, as you can see. See pictures for weights and measurements.
