Fabulous large antique French sterling silver 48oz coffee or tea pot with ornate aesthetic style decoration including palmette frieze bands, acanthus accents and marvelous condition! A truly beautiful and large piece, perfect to wow your guests at coffee or tea time :). The piece stands a total of 10 5/8” tall with the floral finial and is 9 1/4” wide from handle to spout, it holds roughly 48 fluid ounces. The French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks on the body, the tiny number “1” within those marks means it’s in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for “sterling” silver). The silversmith mark is for the Edouard Debain & Louis Frederic Flamant, Paris circa 1864-1874. A truly magnificent piece, freshly in from France so don’t miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. There is a faint indention to the flared portion of the body, on one side between the monogram and handle (closer to the handle) though it's difficult to see. No other dents, dimples, damage or repairs that I can see. Possibly a tiny dimple or two that I my have missed but just look at the pictures, it’s as near perfect as one could hope for. Just polished, beautiful and and ready for use. See pictures for weight and all measurements.
