Fine large antique American hallmarked sterling silver 10.5" oval picture frame with original backing & easel stand and silversmith marks for the Mauser Mfg. Company, New York circa 1887-1903! One of three fine antique to vintage sterling silver picture frames that I've added in the past few weeks. This one the largest and of American origins, marked for the New York silversmith Mauser Mfg. & Co., New York (absorbed into Mt. Vernon Silversmiths in 1903) and it's in wonderful frontal condition. The back and easel have nearly all of the velvet nap missing and are a bit rough but original and work just fine. We missed the major holidays for this one but there are always special occasions, portraits that require fitting frames. Finding great old frames for your pictures is usually the least fun part but not here, we have a host of great antique to vintage frames available for viewing 24/7. Group & display. Not only are they fabulous decorative pieces themselves but what better way to show off what's really important.
Very good condition. There are two or three small dimples on the left side but no major dents, no damage or repairs. As noted above, the back and easel stand are rather rough, missing the velvet nap and someone has but tape in a few places...though I can't determine its function :). See pictures for all measurements.
