Offering a superb 2 piece set: wine or water tumbler, glass (timbale) and the matching plate to either use as a saucer or to use for nighttime snack at bedside for your guests, along with a tumbler of water. This might originally have been 2 pieces of a typical French bonne nuit, or "go to bed" type service that would have had a decanter, the topper to which would have been the upturned tumbler. There is no flaw nor scraping to the saucer/plate that would indicate anything rested there, though, so perhaps it was just as you see it here. In any case, 2 gloriously pretty pieces of mid-1800s French opaline, jeweled in the style consistent with Sevres decorators.
Very good to excellent condition, I see no chips nor cracks, no hairlines nor loss to the glass nor to the decorative ornamentation, raised jewels done in hand applied enamel. The gold rim is also in very nice condition, perhaps the slightest rubs of use. A very lovely old set. Dine alone? Why not with these! Measurements are noted on the photos.
