Absolutely gorgeous antique French Belle Epoque era COMPLETE matching 7pc sterling silver serving implement set with machined or engraved 'guilloche' style handle pattern, raised monogram medallions sans monograms AND all beautifully kept in what appears to be the original fitted storage and/or presentation box! A wonderful set, complete and all pieces with matching pattern with acanthus accented medallions. The set includes meat carving knife, fork and gigot, salad serving fork & spoon and two beautiful fish serving pieces with engraved figural serpent on the knife! Hallmarked sterling silver handles, the French Minerve or Minerva on each, the tiny number "1" mark within designates them as being .950 silver content (95% pure, higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). Silversmith marks are for Massat Freres, Paris circa 1885. Celluloid tines & bowl on the salad serving pair, original steel tines & blade on the meat serving pieces. All original and all in wonderful shape, gorgeous!
Very good condition. A slight dimple possible to the silver handles, some tarnish and/or corrosion to the steel (pre-stainless steel). There is a bit of age discoloration on the salad pieces. The box appears original, all pieces fit and the box itself is in great shape. The interior of the lid has a gold embossed stamp/mark that reads "Vve L. Bonnet, Clermont - Ferrand" and there is a paper stamp on the bottom of the box that reads similar though faint. See pictures for measurements.
