Fabulous antique Victorian era 7.5" double inkwell or inkstand, complete with a bronze bust of a horse, bit & bridle framed in a horseshoe shape silvered backing, stationery or business card holders & two original wheel cut crystal inkwells! One for the inkwell collector or equestrian enthusiast for sure. The stand is in brass or a gilded bronze with turned ball style feet. The center of the stand with a two-slotted stationery or business card holder, beautifully shaped and with machined or engraved accenting around the borders. Fronting the stationery stand is a bronze bust of a horse, the bridle curved up and through the top of the silvered horseshoe shaped frame! Pen holder in front, the inkwells are thick, heavy wheel cut crystal with two 'V' shaped vertical cuts front and back so they slide down and are held by the silvered 'wire' holders. A wonderful decorative piece, quite unique and with definite visual appeal!
Very good to excellent condition. The thick 'wire' holders for the inkwells and pen tray were original silvered or silver plated but it has worn some so the brass/bronze beneath is visible. Possibly a tiny nip or two to the crystal inkwells but no larger chips, cracks or damage to note. See pictures for all measurements.
