Some time ago we had a Victorian bracelet so very much like this one, but a flexible chain rather than bangle. I believe it ended up selling at auction for around $2400 even before gold prices skyrocketed, and this one is so very close and lovely, it's really a great bargain. But you know us, we found it locally (Rancho Santa Fe estate) as a good buy and we love to pass those good buys along to you, our faithful followers and customers. The opals are gorgeous, and as usual, VERY difficult to photograph well. The flash flattens out the fire and color within the opals. We've got to get our photographer to work on our jewelry photo techniques! But digressing there. The bracelet is lovely, hinged and with a safety chain as well as its tight clasp to insure you will not lose it. The bracelet does come with the fine antique Victorian era bangle bracelet box as shown. We believe both are English and both late Victorian to Edwardian era. Our photographer normally does measurement and notes it on the photos, but I see he has missed this one. I've just measured the interior circumference and it is 6.5".
Very good to excellent, fine fire to the opals, though it's tough to capture that in our photos. The coloration is beautiful and they're all fine and undamaged, no chips or cracks. Gold tested at 12k and is yellow. Typical English late Victorian to Edwardian era. The bangle bracelet box is also Victorian era, and a fine and valuable antique in its own right, and it does stay with the bracelet. If you don't want the bracelet box, however, we'll buy it back from you at $75 and keep it for future use, so just let us know if you prefer the discount/buy back.
