Here's a charming little mid-19th century French treasure, a coin purse with covers of slightly convex mother of pearl shell, entirely hand carved and of beautiful high pearlescent shimmer which we have trouble capturing well in our photographer's set up, but I can assure you, it's much prettier in hand. The 2 carved cover panels are each in superb condition, no damage at all. The old claret red silk interior is original but shows a split or two, which is very common in these old ones. The center section with its clasp is in the best condition, and could feasibly be used, though I think it's one you'll just want to display in your collection.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, as noted above.
