Fabulous antique English Victorian to Edwardian era 12 5/8" cigar or tobacco chest, humidor, a standish style box with hidden compartments and Neo-Gothic style brass accenting! There's something about these old tobacco related pieces that is so alluring, this one simply superb with polished bass accenting and an array of compartments, hidden spaces including a match holder just under the escutcheon and a sliding drawer in the rear base. Also, the rotating compartments in the bottom have gilt ormolu match strikers mounted at the outer edges. I found this one in Pasadena last week and it's one of a few truly superb Edwardian era oak pieces, they really do look great grouped and displayed together! The other a unique keys cabinet, also in oak with brass accenting and filled with old keys. Wonderful!

Very good condition. There appears to be an old glue repair along the inside rim of the left humidor compartment lid. There is a little veneer replacement on the lower end of the right side lid, near the escutcheon & key area and a bit of chipping to the wood on that same lid at the right side (top curve area). A few small darkened dings on the front top of that lid and fewer on the front top of the left lid. Some small nips to the beveled base edging. The key included is as found, turns the lock but does not lock the lids as the pin doesn't seem to hit the opening in the lid lock holes. The mirrors mounted in the inside of the lids look to be later additions, likely those spots held soakers for the humidor. See pictures for measurements.
