A superb spoon rack from the 19th century wood artisans of France. This one is without any damage at all, and the patina of the lighter colored wood is just gorgeous - is that lemonwood? I'm not positive of the wood. Perhaps you're an expert on wood grains and can help us out via email. What I can tell you for certain is it is so delicately crafted, it is a work of art. And will surely thrill your guests next time you serve tea, coffee, or even dessert where your beautiful French sterling silver teaspoon set can be at it's finest. I've shown it with a set of French coffee spoons in that final photo, and they're just about too small. I think the normal size French teaspoon (or USA/English sterling one) would just be perfect. Signed on bottom, which is unusual to find.
Very good to excellent condition, I see nothing by way of break, chip, restoration or damage to report. The piece is 6.5" tall and the base is 5.5" in diameter. Signature visible on bottom. Holds 12 spoons.
