If you are the least bit handy, you'll love turning this single stunning carved cabinet door into the door on a wall cabinet for your Master bath, or just hang it on the wall as the fine art masterpiece it truly is. The full body winged griffen (gryphon) rides a wave off acanthus trellis, seated and fabulously sculpted. The cabinet this one was taken from must have really been a beauty. The old cabinet door hardware remains on it and I think it's wonderful, as well. You might want to recess a hide-away space into your wall, and this size door can be worked into a really nice hinged door for it. Put your wall safe behind it if you want. Or just hang on your wall or rest on a dresser top (against the wall behind) and enjoy the rich grains and fine carving. You don't even need to frame these old cabinet doors. The cabinet maker has already done it for you. This one measures 28.5" x 13.75" and is 1" thick at outer perimeter, and the carving rises to about 1.5" in depth.
Very good condition, one bottom corner is slightly blunted (visible in our photos) and there are a couple of tips on wing feathers that are slightly chipped off (just the points). Otherwise, I see no flaws to report. This is really a beauty. The wood is rich, warm and nicely stained. Ready to hang and enjoy.
